Giammarco Sicuro

Giammarco Sicuro is an international correspondent and war photojournalist for Rai, Italy’s national public broadcaster. He has worked for Rai since 2008, covering national and international news: from the Amatrice earthquake to the Concordia shipwreck, from the attacks in London, Manchester, and Berlin to the humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, and including coverage of the pandemic across various continents. In 2022, he covered the conflict in Ukraine, reporting from Russia, Kyiv, and the front lines in the Donbas. He hosted Uno Mattina Estate, a morning talk show, and has received numerous awards. Among these are the Marco Luchetta International Prize, the Cutuli Prize, and the Chatwin Prize for his debut book, “The Year of the Alpaca.” In 2023, she published “Grano. Storie e volti di una guerra vicina” (Grain: Stories and Faces of a Nearby War), on the conflict in Ukraine, and held a photography exhibition with UNICEF Italy titled “Can you smile for me. L’infanzia sperduta” (Can You Smile for Me: Lost Childhood) at the Maxxi Museum in Rome. In 2025, he published “In viaggio con Isa” (Traveling with Isa), a children’s book with Mondadori, and is currently covering the crisis in the Middle East, with a particular focus on Syria and Palestine.
