Matteo Lepore

Matteo Lepore was born in Bologna in 1980. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Bologna and went on to complete several master’s degrees in international relations, the economics of cooperation, and cooperative housing and urban planning. During his college years, he worked as a consultant and project manager in the cultural and nonprofit sectors. From 2008 to 2011, he served as the head of regional development at Legacoop Bologna. In 2010, he helped organize the Bologna delegation to the Shanghai World Expo. He has been active in local politics since 1999. With the Democratic Party, he coordinated the Savena chapters and promoted cultural initiatives in the city. Since 2011, he has held various positions as a city council member, overseeing the economy, tourism, culture, and innovation. From 2017 to 2021, he served as chair of the steering committee for the Metropolitan Tourism Destination.
