She is a communications specialist and multimedia journalist dedicated to amplifying the stories of marginalized communities. She is currently completing a master’s degree at Wits University; Rumana’s research examines the intersectional lives of queer dancers in Durban’s Indian community. Her extensive work on queer representation includes serving as media manager for Iranti and producing the documentary “There is power in the collar.” Over the years, Rumana has used investigative rigor to promote social change and queer visibility.
